  4. SOCA Rust Update & Sale

    Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a quick promotion of the SOCA Rust Clan, it's been going great since the leaders made the decision to switch over to the Sydney 1 Server. We were besieged yesterday but our members managed to hold off the raid group of 8 or 9 fully geared people. We actually managed to get 13 members SOCA Rust members online at once, so activity is great. The base has been about 80% completed now, and there is still 3 weeks left until the server wipe so plenty of time for new players to join us this phase. Rust is currently ON SALE (50% off) @ $9.99USD so it's a great time to pick up the game and give it a try. But Hurry, the sale ends 12 hours from this post! I have put together a quick little video of an incident yesterday where a strange naked man visited our base.... Enjoy, and hope to see you join the SOCA Rust crew!
  5. Hey everyone. We are proud to announce that SOCA Gaming will be forming a World of Warcraft guild on the upcoming Elysium Project server. This server runs World of Warcraft vanilla (original) with no expansions. The game is FREE TO PLAY and there are no subscription fees. If you are looking to relive your glory days of World of Warcraft back when the game was good (and hard!) then you are welcome to join us. Never played World of Warcraft before? No problem! We have a plethora of very experienced members who will help you learn the ropes. Our goals for this are to all level up at a similar rate with your 'group' in the beginning, enjoy the content from the very first dungeons available at low levels, all the way to 60. Click here to view the list of 5 man Dungeons available and their level requirements. So invite some mates and roll 5 characters that can do dungeons together, or form a group from the list of SOCA members who will be looking to group up for Dungeons. This way it allows people to enjoy the content between levels 11-60 at their own pace. And when the majority of the guild has reached the max level (60) we will start actively gearing up our players by running the first 10 man raid, Upper Blackrock Spire. Eventually we will look in to forming 20 man raids for Zul'Gurub and finally even 40 man raids for The Molten Core! Tonight we will be releasing a poll on the forums to let people vote on which faction they would prefer, Horde or Alliance! (Update - Alliance wins!) As it stands we have decided to roll our guild onto the PvP fresh-start Elysium server, where all players begin at level 1. The release date for the server will be announced some time tomorrow and should be no more than a week away from this post. (Update - the rollover server starts December 18th but our fresh start server will be sometime mid January) Get hyped everyone and we hope you will join us in the World of Warcraft!

  9. SOCA Rust Clan: All Welcome

    SOCA would like to introduce you to our newest game addition, Rust. We already have an established clan thanks to the work of @Kisho @Buggolos @Retridemption and @Ritoguy. Everyone in SOCA is encouraged to join the clan. If you are unaware of what Rust is, it's a survival game similar to that of Life is Feudal but with a much larger player base. It can be purchased for $20 USD via the Rust Steam Page. Our Rust clan now has it's own information section on our website, which can be accessed via the menu under the Games section. Also if you want to send the link to your friends to apply, you can use this easy to remember URL. http://rust.soc-aus.net Currently our Clan is on the Sydney 2 Small Rust server. It is an unlisted server that can be accessed via IP (221.121.158.201:28115). This server resets (wipes) once a month on the first Friday of the month.   10. Rocket League releases 'Rumble'

    Well Rocket League has just released the new game mode called Rumble, which is as ridiculous as it sounds. It's kind of like Mario Kart battle mode meets Rocket League, with everyone getting random power ups every 30 seconds. Check out the video below for a taste of the hilarity. Rocket League is a fantastic game and I highly recommend everyone grabs it, it is only $20USD on Steam, but often goes on sale on other game selling websites.

    Been quite a while since the last update, looks like a lot of these changes are pretty decent. The patch is up and live right now, albeit with a few minor bugs which will no doubt be hot fixed soon. Here is a full list of the updates. New Player Updates New Player Adjustments In an effort to reduce the gear barrier associated with the new player experience, many improvements have been made to default loadouts, weapon balance adjustments, and better ability power scaling. Starter weapons Non-sniper starting primaries now have access to a free 1x reflex sight. Starter carbines (TRAC-5, Mercenary, Solstice) now have a laser sight unlocked and equipped by default. Starter assault rifles (T1 Cycler, Gauss Rifle, and Pulsar) now have a forward grip unlocked and equipped by default.     Well there were some epic games played during this years Dota 2 The International 6. Easily Valves greatest event they have hosted. No delays, many surprises and great #production value. The Wings Gaming ends up being the grand final winner, unfortunately my boys EG couldn't make it past the Lower Bracket final today and lost 2-1 to Digital Chaos. The final game of the lower bracket was a nail biter in the dying moments, with EG going for an all out 5 man last ditch effort to destroy the base of Digital Chaos. VOD below. As for the Grand Final I didn't actually watch it due to wanting to go bed after EG lost at about 6:30am, but here are the game results below. To wrap up, here are a few great moments from the event.   14. CS:GO AK and M4 Tweaks

    Counter Strike Global Offensive has had some significant weapon tweaks in the latest update, which might effect the way people aim and shoot. I'm sure our resident CS:GO players from Team Remorse might have some things to say about this! Below is the blog from the developers at counter-strike.net which goes in to detail about the changes. Second Shot Today we’re shipping a new accuracy recovery method and new recovery rates for the AK-47, M4A1-S, and M4A4. Accuracy Recovery Rate Accuracy recovery rate determines how quickly the accuracy of a weapon returns to its baseline value after firing. It was previously expressed as a fixed value, but is now split into initial and final values. Now shorter firing sequences can be designed to recover accuracy faster than longer ones, and the recovery rate for tapping/bursting/spraying can be tuned independently. Goals The goal is to allow players to develop and express their skill using a variety of methods of firing a weapon, by increasing the effectiveness of tapping/bursting relative to that of spraying. Previously we shipped an update to the AK-47, M4A1-S, and M4A4 accuracy recovery rates with that goal in mind, but due to limitations of the system, the solution we employed had a downside which was a smaller but still noticeable detrimental effect on tapping and bursting. We reverted that change and went back to the drawing board, still with the same goal but without those trade-offs. Ultimately that led us to this new way of handling recovery rate. AK-47, M4A1-S, M4A4 To start, we’re shipping new values for the AK-47, M4A1-S, and M4A4. These three weapons are now slightly more accurate while tapping/bursting than before. Individual bullets can be fired more quickly without sacrificing accuracy, and accuracy recovers more rapidly after short firing sequences. Spraying is still advantageous in many engagements, but has the trade-offs of slightly worse accuracy towards the end of the spray and slightly slower recovery afterward.
